Long-term clean energy 24/7
Even though solar energy is by far the most abundant source of potential clean energy, solar PV currently provides less than 1% of the world’s consumed energy. PI Energy’s low-cost solar film can be installed on just about any surface, which means PI Energy has the potential to significantly expand the size of the overall electric and solar PV market. We envision PV on most external surfaces for residential, commercial, and industrial markets, and wrapping electric cars & buses, mobile devices, and more.
PI Energy are working towards commercialisation in 2024. Until deployment, they will focus in optimising installation of pre-commercial product under controlled conditions. In addition, they focus on acquiring performance data for continuous improvement. Initially, they will start working with high-margin customers for pilot installations. If succeeded, they will start working toward global-scale manufacturing.
PI Energy enables solar energy that is low-cost, non-toxic and globally scalable. Having the potential to provide the next generation solar technology, not only in developing regions, but also disrupt the way we think and develop our energy system and grid globally. What catches our intention the most, is their unique tech, protected by trade secret, enabling solar PV on all installations. Traditional solar PV's are heavier, less convenient and harder to handle, while PI's solar PV's can for instance be applied for range extension on EV's.
